My Saturday night was the bee’s knees as I said goodbye to my roaring 20’s with family and friends. I have been obsessed with the 1920’s, flappers and Gatsby for years and read every flapper book I can get my hands on. I think I was born in the wrong era, so for me planning this party was so much fun and I wanted it to last forever! I am thankful my sister and her fiancé were so gracious to host at their home! Here are some pictures from setting up.
I spray painted, with a lot of help from Ryan, wine and beer bottles with 3 different types of gold paint (marble, glitter and solid) to give them a variety looks. Then added some ostrich feathers and pearls to give them that 20’s vibe and spread them around the house.
We weren’t quite finished cooking and setting up the hor d’oeuvres but here is a look at most of the yummy spread!
The dessert table was my favorite with french macarons, cake pops and salted caramels from Cocoa & Fig. To finish off the dessert table I added a bubbly bar with champagne and black berries.
I framed some quotes like “Time to drink champagne and dance on tables” and “A little party never killed nobody” to put on the counters in the kitchen where we kept the wine and beer.
The fun photo booth had props to strike a pose and was a hit that night. We had so much fun dancing around and having fun in our costumes!
Down stairs we had a lounge and poker table set up. Thank God I had my fabulous boyfriend to help me blow them all up!
For the poker table I added some playing cards to the outside of a vase with a velvet ribbon. I also use a Jack Daniels bottle as a vase.
More pictures from the 1920’s soirée to come!
